We're not sure who decided to follow up the award-winning brite-View CinemaCube with something called the CinemaTube, but the latter certainly lives up to it's change of a single letter, adding full 1080p streaming and embedded YouTube XL to its predecessor's already potent mix of supported video and audio formats, a bit.torrent engine, and USB storage support. Shipping on September 21, it'll retail for $129.99 -- but if you pre-order now you get it for $99.99. Hit the read link for all the go...

YouTube’s been on a high-speed growth upswing. Last month, YouTube became the 4th most visited site on the web after it beat out Microsoft’s Live.com and MSN, with 85.1 million U.S. visitors.
That number may not truly reflect the viewership of the web’s most popular video website, though. According to some astounding numbers from comScore, online video is surging as 8.9 billion videos were viewed by 120.3 million U.S. citizens in July. That’s over 1/3 of the entire U.S. population. ...

Over the last few months, YouTube has made it clear that it's keen on helping its premium content partners monetize as effectively as possible — and it's obviously having some success doing it, with the number of monetized views increasing rapidly. Today the site is launching a new feature that will give those monetization rates another boost: YouTube Promoted Video campaigns will now be able to appear on a video's 'watch' page, turning the product into what's effectively an 'AdSense for Yo...

By now, most of us are accustomed to seeing five-to-thirty-second ads play back before videos begin on Hulu and plenty of other sites, but YouTube has mostly steered clear of putting time-consuming ads in between viewers and content, opting instead to serve text or overlay ads, which appear on the bottom of viewing windows and [...]

By now, you may have heard the rumors about YouTube in 3D. Yes, they’re true: you can watch some videos (like the one below) in three dimensions. And while it’s nifty that YouTube has enabled a feature that’s recently received a boost from high-profile movies like Pixar’s Up and Monsters vs. Aliens, it’s essentially useless if nobody actually makes content with the third dimension.
That’s why YouTube’s making a push for you to create 3D videos. In a blog post, the Google-owned...

When Google reported its earnings last week, the company made a point to say that YouTube was on track to become a “profitable business.” Today, YouTube seems intent on driving home the issue, taking to their business blog in a post called “myth busters” that may have been more aptly titled “the media doesn’t know what it’s talking about.”
The company writes of the conflicting media and analyst reports that YouTube is losing as much as $500 million per year that “it seems pe...

LOS ANGELES — President Barack Obama delivered Democrat-friendly California a stark message Monday: Liberal Sen. Barbara Boxer might lose her re-election race if her supporters don't work hard.
The president's stern words in a state where he remains popular and Boxer won her last re-election race in a rout underscored the perilous political environment confronting all Democrats in this midterm election year – and showed Obama is all too aware of the dangers.
"I don't want anyone h...

In libertine France, it takes a lot to spark a sex scandal. Think an underage call girl will turn do the trick? Franck Ribery could face charges after seeing the girl, though he says he didn't know her age. [AFP] More »

Namely a florist and a DJ.
My mother and I met with both Sunday afternoon, loved both, and decided to use them. I sent deposits to them today to secure them for October 30. I also sent off the deposit [...]
